Partially and Fully Rooted Dinosaur and
Reptile Teeth
Finding a fully rooted tooth is very rare as it first implies death
of the animal - many found teeth were broken off while the animal was alive
and eating.
Secondly, it implies a safe resting place as the roots are either hollow or made of softer material than the tooth -
making them very fragile and easily crushed.

Partially Rooted Raptor Tooth - Morocco
Judging from the nick on one side, the shred on the other and the jagged end, this tooth was probably
ripped out.
Even though this tooth is only partially rooted, it has more root than any other
Moroccan
Raptor tooth I have ever seen.
